What is the cuase of Yeast Infection

It's often very difficult to discuss a yeast infection with others. People think they are dirty if they have a yeast infection or they are just turned-off by the idea of having an infection down in the most private of private areas.

So there is a lot that many people don't know about yeast vaginitis or vaginal yeast infections. One of the biggest unknown areas is the exact causes of a yeast infection.

Many people believe that yeast infections are only caused by sexual intercourse. This isn't true. Yeast infections are rarely caused by sexual intercourse. There are many much more common causes.

Yeast infections happen when too much of a yeast-like fungus builds up in an area. This tends to happen in the warm and moist areas of the body.

This means that a person can help avoid a yeast infection by staying away from wearing certain types of clothing. These types of clothing include: bathing suits, tight fitting pants, and pantyhose.

Basically anything that traps-in moisture can help cause a yeast infection. This is because all women have a small amount of yeast in their vagina. When the moisture is trapped in, the amount of yeast multiplies and causes a vaginal yeast infection.

There are many other factors that may cause yeast infections as well. These causes include: birth control pills, menstruation, douching, taking antibiotics, and using steroids.

Of course, once a woman has a yeast infection, she doesn't care what caused it, she only wants to know if she actually has a yeast infection and, if so, how she can get rid of it.

The main symptoms of a yeast infection are: itching in and around the vagina and a white, cheese-like discharge from the vagina. A person may also experience burning while urinating and pain during sexual intercourse.

The first time a type of pain or symptom is experienced, a person should visit a doctor to make sure she does indeed have a yeast infection. Then when the same symptoms are experienced again, the person can get rid of the yeast infection on her own from then on.

Unfortunately many people are too embarrassed to see a doctor or to even go to the store to buy medicine. If you are, there are certain types of remedies that will help you get over the yeast infection on your own.

However, you need to be aware that if the problems persist, you will need to seek medical advice so that a small problem such as a yeast infection doesn't turn into a much larger and potentially dangerous illness.
